Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Kelly has a rising fan club of admirers although she has been in our program for such a short time. She uses her beautifully sweet face, contagious smile, and petite stature to swoon her followers and make them putty in her paws. She adores belly rubs, being cuddled, and just wants to be with her people. She especially adores children! Kelly is also an outdoorsy kinda gal who loves to sunbathe and put her nose to the ground to investigate every smell possible.
Kelly seeks out and appears to enjoy the company of other dogs, but has been limited in her interactions at this time due to her recovery from a severe leg injury. For now, she greets her doggy friends at her foster mom's work through fencing with kisses, "handshakes", and play bows.
Living in a home has been foreign to Kelly, so she has been busy learning about life on the inside. She is also undergoing slow kill treatment for heartworms. The protocol lasts for a total of 10 months (began treatment in March), but her adoptive home will be supplied with the medications necessary free of charge to continue treatment until she is heartworm free.
She attended her last recheck appointment (7/5/17), and her veterinarian is very pleased with the progress she has made in the recovery of her leg injury, so she will no longer need recheck visits! She is using her leg wonderfully and doesn't miss a beat now.
We will update Kelly's bio as we continue to learn more about her and as she gains strength and mobility in her leg. You may follow her story on our facebook page as well. Adoption applications are currently being accepted, so request one today: lizzieshand15@gmail.com

The shelter software system requires us to choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of our dogs we are only guessing predominant breed or breed mix. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog's individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess.
