Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This sweet girl goes by the name of Oneida!
Oneida is a 3-year-old female German Shepherd dog in need of a patient family to welcome her to their lives. Oneida is a special needs girl -- she was attacked by a coyote while a puppy and suffered injuries, including some brain damage. As a result, she has a bit of a droopy muzzle and has some behavioral ticks. For example, she'll do things spin in circles, especially when anxious or before going to the bathroom. We've been trying some different stuff to help calm her nerves -- she's responded well to essential oils and has settled in pretty well with us, but she'd do much better in a stable home environment, with calm, patient owners.
She's a very sweet girl and is really quite a couch potato, she does well in her crate too. That said, she does like to exercise and go on walks and it definitely helps with her anxiety. Oneida is also pretty good around other dogs and would do well with a calm dog that won't try to bother her too much. Cats are a no-no for this girl, though.
If you have a special place in your heart for dogs who have had a tough road home, then this may be the girl for you. Despite her having some special considerations, this really is a wonderful girl who has a lot of love to give and will make a great companion, especially to someone with a slower paced life.
If you'd like to learn more about Oneida and possibly meet her, please submit an application today and we will be in touch.
