Polly Ana is a 2.5 year old, 9 pound Yorkie girl being fostered in Cordova, TN.
Well Hello there every Pawdy! It's me, Polly Ana! I'm brand new to rescue.....here is my story! I had a Momma who loved me lots but her work schedule meant that I spent too much time alone. After lots of soul searching, she decided the best thing for me would be to find a home where I can be the center of attention and as much as I miss her, that sounds good to me! So tonight a nice lady in a red shirt with a Yorkie picture on it met me and my Momma. She was very kind to me and I liked her right away. She let me give her kisses on ride home and in return I got lots of belly rubs. That is a WIN-WIN in my book!
About Me: I am a SUPER ENERGETIC Yorkie! Did I remember to EMPHASIZE that "I AM A SUPER ENERGETIC YORKIE?" YES! I am a SUPER ENERGETIC YORKIE! I am as active as any puppy. I can leap as high as a kangaroo and I will play until the last person is all tuckered out. I love small balls and toys and mostly I love to wrestle around (gently) with my human. I love to go for long walks (except I would rather run LOL). As much as I love walks I am not very leash trained and I strain to go faster than my person wants. I am new to wearing a harness but I think this is going to help me learn to leash walk. I am always ready to go for a walk so I am happy to get lots of practice! I also love riding in the car and going places. This is such a big world for a little Yorkie girl like me to see and I want to see it ALL!
A word of caution for potential adopters.....I am a RUNNER and I will FLY out an open door like a rocket. I'm also a climber and an escape artist. Only a tall gate or fence can contain me.
I love other small dogs (not a fan of big ones) so a young playful pup to be my fur BESTIE would be AMAZING! Homes with senior pups would probably not be a good fit for me because my playful spirit would like be very annoying to a senior dog. A young pup who is eager to play with me would be perfect. I would likely be a good family dog but can only go to a home with children age 12 or older. An adults only home would also be perfect. I am very much a people dog and love to stick near my person like glue. When its time to settle down and watch TV my favorite place is on the arm rest right next to my person or on top of the sofa near their head. I love to give kisses and I will keep going until you come up for air. I love sleeping in bed with my human and snuggling. I dislike being crated and much prefer free run of the home.
My perfect forever home would be one where at least one active person was home a lot. I crave attention, activity, and someone with the time and patience to teach me how to be a good puppy citizen so that I can perfect my house training and leash walking skills. A patient person could also help me learn basic commands like sit and stay. I have trouble with that because I'm so excited all the time! A home with a VERY SECURE fenced yard would be PAWSOME for me but I could never be left outside unattended. A yard (with human supervision) would help me get lots of exercise and run off some of my puppy energy. Lots of long walks are also on my wish list. Another young pup who loves to play and/or an older child (over age 12) who wants to play with me a lot would also be good. I am just out of my puppy stage at age two so a person who has a minimum of 14-15 healthy active years to devote to me is a must.
Full Disclosure: I am not completely house trained. With my former Momma working long hours and traveling a lot it made it hard for me to learn house training because it was too long for me to hold it. So sometimes I go on grass, sometimes I go on pads and sometimes I OOOPS on the floor. I need someone who is home a lot who is also kind and patient with me so that I can learn this stuff.
