Here's what the humans have to say about me:
MEET FYNN
FYNN is a very very special and rare 3.5 year old Dachshund. He is a rare brindle color dachshund and a red chihuahua. He is just the sweetest, most adorable little man. He is quite tiny and needs to gain weight so he will benefit from someone to cook good, healthy food for him. He is quiet, crate trained and Loves his wire crate filled with many blankets to snuggle up in. FYNN is neutered and fully vetted. He has been very well taken care of and loved. FYNN is just an adorable little angel. He is so tiny he would fit in a handbag and can go shopping with you, which he would love, because he loves his people. He loves to go on long walks, cuddle with his family and play tug of war. His favorite activity is following his owner around when he sees the hairdryer until it's plugged in and the warm air is positioned right on him. He is just cuteness overload. Get those applications in - as this is one very special little man.
FYNN will do best in a family with a stay at home parent (work from home or retired) and only older children (over age 12), who are familiar with the special needs of Dachshunds.
Like all Dachshunds, FYNN is high energy and enjoys playing and warming his little bones in the sunshine, so along with regular walks around his neighborhood, FYNN needs a secure fenced yard to run around and explore safely. While small in stature, doxies are big on personality and don't generally do well in apartments, with all of the noises and traffic that come with multiple dwellings in a confined space. To best set up our doxies and their new families for success, ODR, Inc., adopt to families who live in single family homes with secure fenced yards.
OUR CRITERIA (aka The Fine Print):
Based on 30 years of experience with rescue doxies, we have pretty strict criteria. Do you work from home/stay at home/work part time? Have a securely fenced yard? We do not place same gender dogs in a home unless they were raised together, and children need to be 12 or older (some exceptions IF the dog is a puppy or the child has been raised with a doxie). We prefer non smokers and a home with no other small animals (ferrets, hamsters, etc). Cats are on a case by case basis depending on the dog. Remember, these are rescues; many were surrendered because of these issues.
WHAT YOU GET IN RETURN WITH YOUR LITTLE RESCUE:
All our dogs are fully vetted, including spay/neuter, rabies, DHPP, Bordetella, Pyrantyl, nails trimmed, and dental when needed. They'll come with a basket of goodies, food, toys and a custom made harness. The adoption fee is $495, sorry no exceptions, as this covers the cost to rescue them, vet them and take care of them while in our rescue. It also helps towards the care of other doxies that come with huge vet or dental bills or need extensive behavioral training.
Can you give FYNN a happy, carefree life again? If interested, please complete the adoption questionnaire at www.odr-inc.org and email it to: jrangan@comcast.net. The adoption committee will attempt to be in contact with you within 48-72 hours. Please be patient as we are solely volunteer run.
