My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

HOWDY! My name is Butters. I get called lots of things like Butterfly, Butterbeans, Buttermilk, Butternut and even Butterbutt so everyone just calls me Butters. I am a girl and I am about 5 – 6 months old.
Let me start out by saying that in the beginning of my life I NEVER saw any two legged dogs. The only dogs I saw had four legs and knew full well how to walk on ALL four of them. Then along came these two legged dogs. Two legged dogs are not normal – their body isn’t even covered in fur! What kind of animal is THAT! I have figured out that the two legged dogs can do certain things rather well. They can fill a bowl with food, they can keep water handy, they can give bites from their hands (I think that’s what they call those). They can open doors. They can also pet me but I am not sure about that at all. I like it. But it is scary.
Two legged dogs don’t play like four legged ones. With four legged ones, I can tug on them with my teeth and they tug on me with their teeth. When I do that with the two legged ones all they do is say “Ouch, No!”. They are weird. I want so badly to play with the two legged ones but they say they want to “cuddle” and that does not sound appealing at all right now.
I love, love, love other four legged dogs. If they will play with me I will play as long as they want. I love, love, love my toys too. I have a cat (weirdest looking four-legged dog you have ever seen) where I live right now. I like to chat with her – very loudly. She doesn’t ever let me play with her. At least she has four legs so she isn’t as weird as the two legged ones!
Let me explain a little more about the two legged dogs and what I think of them. I really do love them. When they come home from work I am so excited!!! They give me a cookie and I run around like a wild child. They talk to me really nice and say my name. I don’t know why, but anytime they say my name I come to them. Then they put that awful hand thing down and I have to back away. I really prefer to touch them. I touch the hand with my nose and if they try to move it to my ears I might not be too afraid but I can only take a few seconds of that nonsense. Every now and then I will crawl up on the FURniture with them and they can coax me into a little back or belly rub. I have to be in the mood though. I really wish I had met these two legged dogs earlier in my life because I do like them, but my instinct says to be wary.
Now, what I need in a home – I get to make a wish list!!!! I wish I could live with another dog that would play with me. I wish I had a fenced in yard – I have one now and it’s pretty cool. I wish I had two legged animals that would take me on walks through some woods – my people here have done that; I stay with the other dogs but if the two legged ones call I will come back to them. I wish for a family that is patient with me and would make sure that I could get a better understanding of their breed and learn to trust them more. I just wish for love – I wish, I truly wish, that I could cuddle and like it.
I am working on some things right now with the two legged dogs. I am working on walking on a leash – requires those hands getting close!!! I am also working on potty training. That’s going pretty well since I have my backyard!! I still have accidents, but I’m trying to get it together.
My two-legged lady says you can contact her if you want to know more. She will be happy to tell you anything you want to know.
She is spayed and UTD on all vaccinations. She is microchipped and heart worm negative. She is on a heartworm and flea preventative.
