My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Winston is an adorable nine pound pom who is about 18 months old. He was turned into our rescue from a breeder, and while he has lived his entire life in a kennel, he is loving and friendly. He loves to be held and give kisses!

He enjoys running and playing with other small dogs, and is learning to play with toys. Because of his small size, he will not be adopted to households with children under the age of 8. Applicants must have a completely fenced in yard. Preference will be given to those familiar with the breed and who have another small dog for him to play with. He has a very thick, dense coat that will need frequent care and grooming. His adoption fee is $300.

Applicants should reside within a two hour radius of Blacksburg, Virginia (please do not apply otherwise). MTAR will not ship or transport animals. You must be willing to pick up the pet in person.

• Submitting an application does not guarantee an adoption, and neither does submitting an application before anyone else. Our goal is to find the best possible fit for the dog, regardless of who applied first.

• We are a volunteer organization and it may take time to respond to your request; although we attempt to answer all inquiries, sometimes this is not possible.

• We reserve the right to refuse adoption to anyone.

• We will not adopt to anyone who gives misleading or inaccurate information on the application.
