This handsome little guy was found wandering the streets of our neighborhood. After asking all the neighbors if he belonged to anyone and not finding a chip, we took him into rescue. He arrived with his sibling, Delilah and his friend Duke. This happy little trio are quite the little pack, but have settled into rescue life just fine!
Jake is a sweet, happy, friendly pup who loves attention and gets along with everything and everyone he meets. He is a smaller guy, weighing in at only 18 lbs and is believed to be a corgi/sheltie mix. His longer coat and high pitched barking leads us to the Sheltie, and his short stature and smaller legs make us see Corgi! So the best of both worlds, really!
Jake really is the friendliest dog we have ever met, he enjoys the company of all humans, both big and small. When you aren't paying attention to him he will jump up on your legs to get your attention or whine sweetly while he looks up at you with the sweetest face. He would be great for any family of any size. We think he would especially enjoy children as he has such a love of play. He also gets along wonderfully with all dogs of any size also, and has never exhibited any poor behaviors, other than wanting to play too much! We think he needs a home with another dog or access to have playtime with other dogs, since he enjoys their company so much we want to ensure he doesn't lose that outlet and start misbehaving elsewhere. He enjoys playing outdoors, LOVES the water, and especially loves toys! He can be a bit of a digger at times when he gets bored, which is why we suggest another dog or children for his playmates. However, he is extremely well behaved when given commands. We deter this using a sandbox area where he can exert his digging habits, without destroying the yard!
Jake has done great with our cats and if anything, views them as more playmates to have a good time with! We don't think he has ever met anything or anyone that he didn't think was his friend, though the cats may tend to disagree. He definitely doesn't have a mean bone in his body as he even tries to play with our rabbits!
Jake is fully vetted, meaning he is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and on monthly flea and heartworm medication. He is also microchipped.
