My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sage is a gorgeous female Carolina Dog that was rescued in Texas last year with her siblings who have both found their forever home.

Now we need to tell you - Sage is a very goofy, lovable, sweet yet aloof girl that absolutely needs to be in a home with other friendly dogs - because this girl LOVES to play! She's currently being fostered with 2 other dogs (1 male, 1 female) - she hikes, plays very well with her foster brother & sister, throws toys into the air to catch them herself, and at the end of the day settles beautifully down to rest!

Sage is very intelligent and has been through all puppy classes and excelled - but she has to have other dogs in the home she goes to.....she just needs a canine pack so she can thrive!
She's about 1.5 years old, up to date on all vaccines, house broken, crate trained, on HW preventative and is HW negative, spayed and well.....she's READY for the forever home that will take the time to understand her and form a life long bond of trust, friendship and love.
Her foster Mom will be very involved in any interested applicants so we can be sure she goes to the right home - for you, and for her!

FOSTER UPDATE 4-4-17
Sage is such a special creature; she finds the joy in everything, from "boring" street walks to drawing out the playfulness in other dogs. She brightens the mundane with her ebullience. She is so good in the house (no crate while we're gone) and does really well in our quiet, semi-rural household with daily walks, some rough housing, and weekend romps in interesting places. She loves hiking with us and got to go off leash for the first time at the dog park recently. She was the epitome of happiness and rather comfortable with strangers, who typically bring out her shy side.
We love watching this beautiful girl blossom.

FOSTER UPDATE 4-14-17
Sage continues to be a complete goofball but is also proving herself to be quite the well-mannered young lady with additional visits to the dog park where her recall has been impressive. She loved the freedom and ability to do zoomies but kept a close eye on her foster siblings' whereabouts. At home she paws at them to play and rests on her back with her legs outstretched, sneaking quick glances to see if anyone has noticed. The tactic always works to earn her a belly rub for being so entertaining! This shy girl has grown more inquisitive of new people with each outing we've gone on and I absolutely love seeing her grow. She's going to bring so much laughter and love to whomever adopts her.

FOSTER UPDATE 4-25-2017
We took Sage on a big hike on Sunday and she rocked it! She was really intuitive being hooked to a bungee lead, proved herself a quick learner, and had so much fun. Trail time is also super beneficial for her as she gets to see lots of people without being asked to mingle too much. At home she loves belly rubs when she's not with the other dogs.
