Meet Miss Melody a beautiful Carolina Dog mix that came to us from the shelter system in GA. She's been in her foster home for about 2 months and has adjusted well to the other dogs, cats and the humans that are taking care of her. She's spayed, up to date on vaccines, walks well on a leash, house trained (rings the bell when she needs to go out!) and loves to play. She's not crazy about being crated - but she's not destructive at all.
Melody would do best in an experienced and dog savvy home with another energetic dog. This is what her foster Mom has to say about her.
"She is house trained - does not like to be closed in her crate at all but will settle down, eventually. She wants to be center of attention, loves to be close by is getting better at listening when told leave it. Will ring the bells at the door to go potty. Great with dogs and cats and kids. She is high energy and would need another dog to play and wrestle with and lots of exercise. She does have a startling bark is a talker and will paw at you to get your attention. Is good on the leash alone or accompanied by a well mannered buddy. Influenced by the hound who is totally scent driven they must be walked separately. Likes to sleep in the bed at the foot and is not a pest.....until it's time to get up by her watch!
Pros. House trained, rings bells to go out,loving, beautiful, good with kids dogs cats. Good on lead. Great watchdog. Loves to be close to you , smart, loves the car
Cons. Doesn't love to be locked in her crate, paws at you when she wants something, barks a lot when she is scared of something. whines."
