Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This beautiful girl, Merry, is just that! She is 82 lbs of sleek, muscled, intelligent beauty and power, seeking an experienced home with an owner who loves high drive dogs. Merry is an American Bulldog, one year old, spayed and fully vetted, and has recieved extensive training that has provided focus and control on her power. Though Merry knows sit, down, stay, come, and heel, and has been started on proper ecollar conditioning for further refinement of her obedience, she still has a tendancy to get wild in drive and require calm, firm, strong handling to come back to earth.
Merry is not sound sensitive or worried about strangers, is brave, earnest, healthy, and extremely outgoing. She does know how to relax, but for now is a very ON/off dog who seeks somebody to help her find balance in the middle.
Merry has been raised with small children but she's a bit of a freight train so smaller kids are likely to be bulldozed. She is SO EXCITED about other dogs that she really needs to be around only playful but mellow large dogs at least within ten pounds of her own size. She's not dog aggressive but would likely end up in a dog fight if mismatched because in her interactions with dogs she is INTENSE and PERSISTENT. If she was around a cat that was totally and entirely unimpressed with her, and willing to back it up with claws, she'd probably be OK but if the cat ran it would be toast. She hasn't been tested with cats however so that's at your own risk.
Merry has never bitten a person or a dog or shown inclination to do so, and has lived a very structured, regimented life with a very dedicated but realistic retired couple who have small grandkids - so, a simple mismatch in lifestyles. They seek to find Merry a home where she can blossom, with a person who really appreciates and can handle a dog that is - honestly - not easy, but fun and very eager to work and please.
