We adopted Gatsby 3 years ago from the south. He is a sweet boy and just wants to be with his family. He does suffer from a bit of separation anxiety (and the beagle in him comes out when he howls!). He has been allowed to sleep in bed at night and is crated during the day. Not much of a toy player, more of a couch potato. When he sees another dog the barking begins. He has not been overly socialized but on walks has no problems with the dogs he comes in contact with. His rabies are updated. He is very submissive and it shows when any kind of yelling occurs. The perfect home for him would not have small children as they tend to have more energy than he prefers. He would be a wonderful pet for someone who was home more than away, someone who just wants a buddy to love. I do believe if he were worked with much of his anxiety would disappear. As many small dogs do, he does piddle when overly excited. He has not had much exposure to riding in cars but tolerates it.
