My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Maverick is the best companion/buddy a person could ask for despite his rough start in life. I don't have a lot of personality information yet because he really can't be excited or worked until his Heartworm treatment is in the rear view mirror. However, certain things are clear. He appears to make human friends with great ease. Doesn't hardly bark and has shown no aggression towards humans and dogs. House trained. Healthy appetite and seems to improve everyday so I think he will be fine once his treatment is complete. He easily spooked and stays close to his foster. Loves to walk but needs leash work as he tends to pull like a huskie. Not very fond of vehicles or vehicle transport. Not really crate trained yet. I am really holding back on playing and training, for reasons previously mentioned. I suspect he will ultimately love walks and runs. He might have a little lab in him because he sure loves to retrieve and he is good at it. He stays at my feet when I am working in my home office. This guy is about as loyal and sweet as a dog can come. Good energy level (and improving every day) but is just as happy snuggling next to you. This dog would be perfect for a house with people around during the day. I envision Maverick belonging to a family where he can interact with family members safely while having one main master. A dog with this temperament is rare indeed.
