Meet Munhkin, a gorgeous tiny Chihuahua/Yorkie mix girl in search of the perfect forever home. She was born on July 7, 2008. She is absolutely adorable and a favorite in her foster home. Her two sisters are also available for adoption, as is her mother.
Munchkin is the smallest of her litter and will most likely be an extremely small adult dog. She will ONLY be adopted into a home that has experience with tiny or "toy" dogs. These tiny dogs require more care than an average dog. They must have food available at ALL times as their bodies aren't capable of regulating their blood sugar for long periods of time. Munchkin has dry food available at all times but also gets canned food several times a day. Her favorite is Beneful in the little plastic containers. These are perfect for her as she only eats a little bit at each meal and you can simply put the lid back on the container and put it in the refrigerator.
Munchkin would do best in a home with another small dog for company. But she prefers the company of people more than anything else. She loves to snuggle and can often be found snuggling under her foster dad's chin. She's a tiny girl. :) She must have a home where she'll get lots of attention as that's what she's accustomed to getting. She really needs to be adopted into a home where someone is home most of the time. Her foster dad takes her to work with him and she goes pretty much everywhere he does so she's already spoiled rotten. She loves going for rides...with frequent potty breaks of course.
Munchkin looks pretty much like a pure chihuahua. If you didn't know she was a Yorkie/Chihuahua mix, you would think she was a purebred Chih. She's absolutely gorgeous....and she knows it. :)
Munchkin will need some work on housetraining as she's still just a puppy. Her foster family is currently working on training her to use potty pads. We would prefer a home without small children for her as she will be a very small dog even when full grown. Her mother weighs just 4 pounds and her dad weighed just 5 pounds.
She is up to date on vaccinations and on heartworm preventative. She will only be adopted to a home that wants her to be an inside dog. Please research the breed(s) before filling out an application. Please apply only if you are willing to invest the time, effort, and energy that this sweet girl needs.
Adoption fee is $350. Spay is required, no exceptions. We send an adoption kit with each dog that includes a small bag of food, treats, a toy and vaccination information.
Please note that we do not place our animals on a first come, first served basis. We work to find the best homes possible for our babies. Please fill out an application for adoption ONLY if you are serious about giving this dog a PERMANENT home and you can provide for any special needs it may have. Vet references are required.
