My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, world. I’m Alfalfa (long story) and I am so excited to find my forever home. My foster parents say I’m a triple threat-lovable, handsome and smart. I’m rather funny, too, but since they don’t speak dog, they don’t know about that one. I live with foster canine sister who is the boss of the house, some fun cats, and a very young human. We all get along really well. My foster mom and dad love that I'm gentle with their little human, I respect the cats and don't chase them, and my canine sister and me love to play! I'm also huge on snuggling and enjoy relaxing on the couch when my family gets home from work. I never mind going into my crate and I';m great at letting them know when it's time to go outside. Everyone needs a little underbite in their lives and mine is outstanding so please go fill out the application to adopt me.

All of our pets start their journey in Memphis Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted.

In order to qualify for ALIVE’s program all of the following steps must be met: • You must be at least 24 years of age and be able to provide ALIVE with proof of age. • Any current pets must be up to date on vaccinations, and be spayed/neutered. Exceptions to this will only be considered if proof of a medical explanation is provided. • If you currently rent, you must provide a landlord’s phone number and a copy of your executed lease. • All members of the family living in the home where the animal will be placed must be interviewed. • Allow an ALIVE Rescue Memphis representative into your home for a visit to insure that your home is safe for the potential new dog or cat. • Be able and willing to spend the time and money necessary to provide training, medical treatment and proper care for a pet. • Currently, the requested donation to adopt a dog over 4 months of age is $450.00. The $450.00 adoption fee includes transport to the Chicago area.

Our adoption application can be found at http://www.aliverescuememphis.org/adoptionapplication/

Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you submit an application immediately to start the adoption process. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, ALIVE Rescue Memphis is operated 100% by volunteers. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding.

Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well educated decision from well qualified staff.
