Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Stunning and beautiful with the most piercing beautiful green eyes, this little four year old girl is Mary-Tyler! With the exception of one small white spot on her chest, she has the softest, almost silk-like, medium length fur, which she loves to have groomed. Very affectionate and social, Mary-Tyler loves company and will follow her family around and sit with them while they watch TV! A chatty girl, she loves to talk, as if trying to tell you a story. Mary-Tyler is the perfect lap cat, who will paw you if you're not paying enough attention to her! Lots of head scratches will have her purring up a storm! Her catnip fish toy is one of her favourites and she will wait at the glass door with her catfish mouse in her mouth, meowing for someone to come in and play with her. Mary-Tyler would do fine as an only pet (all the more attention for her!).
Mary-Tyler was discovered to be diabetic when she was younger. Good news though - after only two weeks of insulin, she no longer requires it. All she needs is a diet of wet, low carb food (readily available at your local store - Fancy Feast or Nutro, for example), which she gets 3-4 times a day (breakfast, dinner and bedtime snack) to keep her blood sugar levels in normal range, for the rest of her life. And except for periodic blood testing (once a month at most), that's all the special care she needs! Her condition is under control by this proper diet and she may never need insulin again. She could stay in remission for the rest of her life! PLEASE don't let this deter you from bringing this beautiful girl into your lives and home. Mary-Tyler is the sweetest cat you'll ever meet and so deserving of a forever home! All she asks is for a home with no other cats.
Mary-Tyler was found in January 2017 as a stray. After spending a week in a shelter, she was rescued and went to live with her foster mom. It was discovered that Mary-Tyler had a microchip and her previous family was located. She had been adopted from animal control, along with another cat. Unfortunately, not long after, the family could no longer keep the cats and gave them away. Sadly, less than two weeks later, Mary-Tyler and her sister were dumped outside and picked up by animal control. Her sister has since found her forever home and now Mary-Tyler is patiently waiting for hers.
Mary-Tyler is looking for a very extraordinary forever family who will be able to give her all the love and attention that she deserves and also be able to provide the care that she will need to live a long and healthy life. She is very eager to form a lifetime bond with a family who will pamper her like a princess! She will continue to enjoy all the love and care she's been receiving at her current foster home until her forever home is found.
Mary-Tyler is current on vaccinations, spayed and microchipped.
