Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
My name is Violet! I was purpose bred for research, but after I arrived at the laboratory, they discovered that I have demodex mites, which causes demodectic mange. THIS IS NOT THE CONTAGIOUS FORM OF MANGE - IT IS A RESULT OF A WEAKENED IMMUNE SYSTEM. Click here to read about Demodex mites and mange.) There were two small localized areas which the lab treated, but it excluded me from the kidney transplant studies, so here I am!
CBR-East will take me to their veterinarians to see how I am doing, but in general, I look and feel great! I just need a home. I am shy, but very gentle and sweet. I will need to work on my housetraining and cratetraining, but with the right adopter to love and train me, I will be set! More will be posted as my foster mom gets to know me!
Update: My Demodex mites are GONE! :) I am a shy little beagle who enjoys the company of other dogs. I am a little weary of people sometimes, so I will need a patient adopter who will introduce me to things slowly. Being in a home with another young, confident beagle would be great for me! Small children will be overwhelming for me to deal with, so a calmer home would be better suited to me!
