Here's what the humans have to say about me:
My name is Sadie, and my personality literally saved my life! I am very special because I have helped out a lot of people. I am a retired research beagle (that just means I was used in biomedical research), and now I have been given the chance to be adopted as a pet and learn what life outside of a laboratory is really like!
I only have 1 kidney. (I was used to help in kidney transplant research! Wow!) Just like people, I am expected to live a normal and healthy life with just one kidney. I was used in a study at the end of which I should have been euthanized so that my kidneys and tissues could be examined - but guess what? I was so loving, social, and affectionate that it was requested that I be allowed to be released to CBR-East and be adopted! Here I am, and now I need a home!! The only other issue I have is that my left jugular vein is not functional - as a result of my study. This is not expected to cause any problems, either, though - it's just something my new veterinarian will need to know. My labmates Allie and Angie with these "issues" were adopted out and are doing great, and the same should be true for me!
So far, I am just as sweet as can be. I search out attention, and just want to snuggle and cuddle into you... I love everyone I have met, and would love to be with someone who can give me all of their time and attention. I will need work on my cratetraining and housetraining, of course. More updates will be posted about me soon!
