Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Elmo is a handsome and eccentric young cat. The first thing you will notice when you meet him, is his distinctive meow and his love for his own voice. He can be quite talkative at first, but once you start petting him, his meows turn into happy purrs. Elmo is a very affectionate cat who really loves to play and look out windows.
He was brought in with his buddy, Koivu, after their previous owners moved away and left them behind. They both adjusted very quickly but had to be separated due to Elmo being Feline Leukemia positive.
Elmo's ideal home would be a household with no other cats or another FeLV cat.
Feline Leukemia (FeLV) is a disease that weakens a cats immune system, making them more prone to contracting an illness from their environment. FeLV is only contagious to uninfected cats through contact, making it perfectly safe for humans and other animals to live with them. It is recommended to keep FeLV positive cats indoors to reduce the possibility of them getting sick, as well as preventing the spread of the disease.
All that being said; with proper care and careful monitoring, they can live long happy healthy lives.
