My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, it's me Sadie! In case you couldn't tell from my picture, the one my foster parent took of me and my big smile, I am a two year old, female Labrador Retriever Mix. I love it here with my foster family but I am hoping to find a home of my own. Maybe I could tell you some things I like and some things I don't like and that would help us see if we are right for each other.

Like most young dogs, I love other dogs. I have so much fun playing with my foster siblings, so it would be perfect if you had another dog, or dogs, that needed a playmate. And even though they are not great playmates I get along fine with cats.

I love attention and affection from people. I love a belly rub and a good scratch behind the ears. I love when my foster family take me on walks around the neighborhood. I;m sure I would love go for strolls with you around your neighborhood. I love to learn new things because I know that, when I figure out what you want me to do, I might get rewarded with affection and treats. Did I mention I love treats?

After a fun time of doggie games with my new canine buddies or a wonderful walk, maybe we could hang out and watch TV. Did I mention I only weigh 45 pounds? Hopefully it will be alright if I try to find out if I am maybe just small enough to be lap sized. Usually I'm too big to really fit in a lap, so I'll settle for a snuggle next to you on the couch.

Those are some of the things I like and there is only one thing I really don't like. One thing that is kind of two things, I get overwhelmed by loud noises or lots of fast activity. So it would be best if my new home was a calm, quiet home with no children or only older children who are dog savvy.

I almost forgot to mention, because it doesn't bother me anymore! I had a back injury that has healed, but the Vet said there is a chance I may developers arthritis when I am older. He also said that a lot of dog get arthritis when they get old, so I could get medication like they do if I need it.

Hopefully I was able to give you an idea if your home would be the right one for me. If you think I sound like a perfect match, go to savinjuice.org and fill out an application so we can meet!
