Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Everyone meet this
beautiful, affectionate, active 6 year old border collie mix named Molly!
She loves to run, go for hikes, and play in the shallow water and snow. Fast, agile, and a good climber (yes, this includes tree houses and 5 foot fences, too), Molly would enjoy a home with plenty of land to explore or take a daily run/hike with her people. She has the herding instinct of the collie plus a soft mouth which has carefully carried injured birds and gently set them down.
Though she loves outdoor activity with her people, she is a lady not suited for living outside full-time. She is house trained and never chews or steals her people's possessions. At meal time, she lies down and waits for her people to leave the table before checking for crumbs. She is even accustomed to having her muddy paws wiped before entering the house.
Molly is very affectionate, preferring caresses over treats. A top notch cuddler, she has been patient and gentle with well-behaved children and adults. She would prefer to sleep with her people, but knows how to sleep in her own bed. She likes to be near her people at all times and and gets anxious if they are away too long. When she must stay home alone, an outdoor run in good weather or indoor crate, though they make her nervous, keep her safe and out of trouble. She enjoys playing with certain other dogs, particularly ones who are fine with her being the alpha, but she can get overstimulated if activities are too raucous and become aggressive with them.
Because she has essentially been in the foster system for a long time, she has had to look out for herself more than for her people. She has made great progress in her present home with calm, gentle treatment, but she hasn't bonded with the family, perhaps because they aren't able to meet her need for activity. She would be better suited to a home where active humans spend more time with her than away, like regularly working with their dog, and enjoy having a constant loving companion by their side.
If you are interested in adopting Molly, please complete the entire dog application on our Facebook page under notes. Molly's adoption fee is $200 and she will come with everything she is familiar with. Bed, toys , crate, etc.
