My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Arrival Story: Sadie was rescued from a rural shelter where she arrived as a stray. Sadie was very quickly diagnosed with Parvovirus, a deadly and sometimes treatable disease. Well, FFAR went into immediate action to do whatever it took to save Sadie. As of October 1st, she was released from the emergency vet and it back in the lap of luxury at her foster home. Our prayers for little Sadie worked!!

DONATIONS NEEDED - UPDATE 10/06/08- Sweet Sadie has cheated death by a very close margin. After 5 days of 24 hour vet care, she was able to return to her foster home where she is now back to acting like a normal pup - playing and having fun -loving all the special attention she is receiving from her foster family.

The cost of Sadie's care over the last week has exceed $2000 (which in our eyes was worth it because she deserved a chance at life) but now we need to raise some funds so that when the next "Sadie" walks in through our doors, we will have the funds to save another very needy life. A donation, no matter the amount, will help us pay for her treatment and help us save other sick dogs like Sadie. Donations can be paid via paypal above or mailed to us at

Age / Weight: As of Sept. 27th she is 13 weeks old and about 15 lbs.

Personality Description: She is very new to us, but so far is a sweet and playful pup. She seems to be your typical puppy, loves to play and loves to explore. She is great with other dogs and great in the car. We'll post more as we learn about her.

Ideal Forever Home: Like any young pup, she needs a family to give her all the exercise, discipline, and love she needs to develop into a well mannered adult dog. She will need someone with patience to train and socialize her as she learns what being a family dog is all about. Of course all young dogs need exercise and so an active family would be great. Puppies are cute, but we are looking for a forever home for her so please consider the 14 year commit that comes with adoption of a puppy.
