Here's what the humans have to say about me:
UPDATE 10/10/08 - Rory is feeling much better! He has turned out to be a very very good puppy. He is the perfect mixture of playful and affectionate. He is my little shadow and like any puppy gets into his share of mischeif. We are working on the potty training and if taken out regularly is doing very well. He loves to play with other dogs and respects the alpha male in the house, but he is maturing and starting to test the waters a bit. He is good with the cats too. He's not very vocal, he lets out a little whine or howl here or there, but that's it. I think his ideal home would have children and/or another dog to play with and a fenced yard. At this point, he can't be left for more than 3-4 hours at a time because that is about all he can hold it for, so please keep that in mind if you are interested in adopting him. He also is a puppy and will need either an experienced dog owner or someone willing to go through training classes with him. He's easy to work with because he's very treat motivated. Overall, he's a very smart and loving puppy...he's going to make a great pet for one lucky family :o) Arrival Story: Rory was at the same shelter as Sadie, the lab pup that contracted parvo. So when learned there was another pup there we started him on prevention medicine and made plans to take him into the group. By the time he came to us yesterday (10/4/08) he was lethargic and had a very high temperature. We got him into the vet right away and found out that he too has parvo. He is 5 months and was on the prevention meds so we believe that he'll be just fine and pull through quickly. He is still eating, drinking, and having normal potty activity...all really good signs. As of this morning (10/5/08) his temperature has gone down to normal. He's still sleepy and weak, but we're headed back up to the vet today for some fluids and antibiotics. Even though he is sick, he is still such a good boy only pottying outside!!! Please consider donating to his recovery via the chip in above or you can mail it to
