Breed: Shih tzu
DOB: 2007
Sex: Spayed female
Weight: 12 pounds
Poor little Claudia had a lot of problems when she showed up at the shelter. While it was noted that she was sweet and friendly, she was missing many teeth and many of the remaining ones needed to be removed. In addition, she had a very bad bladder infection that needed to be treated before she could have surgery to remove the many stones in her bladder .
Claudia is all “fixed up” now but she does have sometimes have trouble with her rear legs while walking. X-rays of her spine were normal so it may be a nerve problem. There is only one step in her current foster home and she handles that with no problem but she may not be able to go up or down a flight of stairs.
Claudia does act like an older dog as she does not seem to have any interest in playing with doggie toys or other dogs but has a pretty good appetite and likes to take strolls outside in the fenced yard when the weather is nice.
