My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sangha (gray) and Alayah are two cockatiels who were surrendered to ECC after their guardian passed away. Cockatiels are very sociable birds and can get depressed if left alone for long periods of time. Luckily, Sangha and Alayah have each other and they found comfort in each other's company after losing their human companion of many years, and now have made it to us on their way to a new forever home.

These beautiful birds are friendly, and though a bit hand-shy, they enjoy being talked and sang to. They especially enjoy listening to classical music and the wild birds outside. Alayah is a fan of head scratches and likes to play with his basketball toy dunking the ball into the little basket. They have lived with cats and dogs and are not easily intimidated by them; instead, they like to climb down to the bottom of their cage to watch and chat with the cats at their foster home.. Sangha and Alayah are approximately 16 years old, and while this is the average lifespan of cockatiels, they can live up to 25 years or more with proper care, which includes a balanced diet, room to fly, and eliminating potential hazards in the home environment. Since they are bonded, they are only available for adoption together, and they do require either a large flight cage, indoor aviary, or a secure bird room.
