My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there, I’m glad to see you checking out my page! I’m Kristoff Ranger and it’s great to meet you. I’m looking for a new family to call my own! Could it be you?

Here’s my stats:

Possible Breed: I’m a Lhasa Apso, for sure!

Gender: I’m a boy, can’t you tell how manly I am?

Colors: I’m a very handsome golden color.

Age: The vet says I’m about 3 years old

Weight: I weigh about 25 pounds

Ideal home: One that is quiet and I’m the only dog. Or it’s me and another quiet, calm dog.

Now for the good stuff!-
Like most Lhasa Apsos, I’m on the independent side. I really, really like my people. I can often be found lying at their feet. I love to go on car rides and I love to go on a walk. And I REALLY LOVE toys. Get the tough kind ‘cause otherwise I’ll tear them up by playing with them so much! Okay, so I’m gonna confess, I’m a bit of a scardy-cat. When Lone Star got me, I was afraid of everything! I’m a lot better now but I guess I still react with fear to new dogs, crates, cars zooming by or new people. I like girl dogs better than boy dogs, quiet dogs instead of noisy puppies. I’m not taking any medicines and I don’t currently have any medical problems.

My foster mom says, “Kristoff is quite the talker! He lets you know when he needs to go out to potty, or when he is negotiating going for a walk or car ride. He looks so joyful when he tosses his toys in the air.”

So if you have a quiet home and are a person who can be brave for me and understand when I am afraid of things, please adopt me soon! To start the process of adopting me or one of the other pups by filling out the application found at www.shihtzu-rescue.com.

PS. I've had ALL my vetting, and oh boy, it was a lot. Here's what I had done:
Distemper/Parvo shots – TWICE. One shot doesn't cut it.
Bordetella shots - ALSO TWICE.
Spay/Neuter-of course.
A fecal exam so I don't have any bad worms. Treatment if I do.
A heartworm test. Treatment if I am positive for heart worms
BLOODWORK to make sure my liver and kidneys are working well, because you know, we doggies often have issues in the liver and kidneys.
A DENTAL exam AND cleaning if I needed it- yep, all my toofies are checked out.
See, that's a LOT. Ask your vet - that's a LOT.
