Shanna and Emma are a very loving pair of older female guinea pigs looking for a home where they will get lots of lap time. Both girls were lonely singles who met each other in the Rescue -- and they quickly became good friends. Shanna, who is brown and white, is 4 years old and was taken to a local shelter right before Christmas after her owner died. Emma is brown, tan and white and is 3 years old. We do not know why she was surrendered.
Shanna loves engaging with her human companions and loudly begs for her veggie snacks. She is still learning not to run away when someone reaches into her cage to pet her. But once you have her on your lap she stretches out and is extremely content. Emma eagerly awaits her head scratches. Both girls will cuddle on your lap for an hour or more while you watch TV!
The girls have an excellent appetite and enjoy fresh vegetables, piles of hay and Oxbow Cavy Performance pellets every day. The pair will need to live in a Rescue-required Cubes and Coroplast cage of at least 2 cubes by 4 cubes and be in a family part of the house so everyone can enjoy their company. We also ask that anyone adopting them lives a reasonable driving distance from Mt. Airy, MD.
The adoption fee for Shanna and Emma will be $70 as they are both intact females. If you are interested in finding out more about adopting this sweet pair of guinea pigs, please send an e-mail to guineapigs@smallangelsrescue.org.
