Meet our handsome, sweet pup Simon! Simon is a sweet hound who had a rough start in life. He was born on the streets where as a puppy he grew up without love, consistency and socialization. He was eventually picked up by animal control and taken to the shelter, that's where he was rescued from by a wonderful group. Simon was a sweet dog but he was completely terrified of everything and everyone, and had no basic guidelines or structure to help him be adopted. That's when they contacted us for help with his training and socialization. Now, you wouldn't ever guess that Simon was afraid!

He completed his socialization and training courses and is now finally ready for his new life! Simon is what we believe, a border collie mix, who is approximately 2.5 yrs of age. He is a medium sized pup, at around 55-60 lbs, and he is FULL of personality and life now that he's learned that life isn't as scary as it used to be! He absolutely ADORES other dogs, and is wonderfully well behaved for a playmate. We actually will require his new family to have another dog already in the home as Simon doesn't adjust well without having a pup friend. He loves to run and play with his canine pals, and gets along with all dogs of every shape and size. He gets along wonderfully with his feline companions as well and doesn't mind the cats. He gives them their space, and doesn't bother them when they aren't interested in playing.

Once Simon knows your his best friend and caretaker, he will follow you where ever you would like to go! He meets other people well, but can be a little shy sometimes with all the excitement of those wanting to pet him. With the help of a tasty treat such as a pepperoni or even boiled chicken, this happy guy warms right up and will turn back into his bubbly, happy self. Simon doesn't mind children, but some of the younger, more rambunctious kids may be a little frightening to him as he still is unsure of some things but with calm, patient children, dog savvy, or older children we think he would be very receptive.

Simon LOVES to play, and toys are some of his favorite possessions. He enjoys chasing after anything that squeaks or makes sound, and he loves rope toys! His favorite though is a classic tennis ball! But be warned! He likes to "skin" them by taking off the green fuzz when he gets bored! He also is what we call a self entertainer. If left alone with his toys, he will happily sit there throwing them in the air, playing and being quite silly with them.

Simon is fully vetted, meaning he is neutered, up to date on all of his vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm negative and on monthly preventions for heartworms and fleas. He also knows most of his basic obedience commands such as sit, stay and settle. He is crate trained, housebroken, and does excellent on leash! He takes to training especially well, even more so when you have something to motivate him with such as toys or treats!
