My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

The "Great Santini" is a 3 year old black and tan standard male dachshund. His elderly owner had lost the ability to care for him and the numerous other dogs in the home. Santini had no history of any vet work, and had numerous intestinal parasites. He is being treated and restored to health, and already feels a lot better. However, he is also heartworm positive. Santini has started heartworm treatment and is responding well. Since heartworm treatment is a somewhat lengthy process, we anticipate Santini will not be ready for adoption until after Thanksgiving. Santini is a sweet, loving fellow who is enjoying attention from people. We will post updates on Santini as we get to know him better.
