Here's what the humans have to say about me:
***COURTESY POST*** PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT THIS RESCUE FOR INFORMATION.
Bristol, CT - I’m SO excited to be able to post this pup and you will understand why after you read this! This is Sofia! Sadly, like many others Sofia was failed by humans. At about a year old, her owners moved and decided to open the door and let Sofia go according to neighbors. Sofia was left to fend for herself for 1 YEAR!! She battled the frigid tempatures looking for a warm spot to sleep during the winter and did her best to find shade from the scorching heat this past summer. About a month ago, Sophia was finally caught and is curently in a wonderful foster home. We were worried that she may have become semi-feral with being away for humans for that amount of time but she is doing great! She no longer needs to worry about where she will find her next meal, where she will lay her head or the feeling of constantly needing to be on the run. She has had to grow up way too fast and deserves nothing but the best to make up for lost time.
We believe Sofia is a 2 year old (+/-) Border Collie/Corgi mix (she’s long)..around 45 lbs +/-. Although she is good with kitties, she LOVES other dogs! I think she would really enjoy the company of another dog. She is a bit shy with new people in the beginning for obvious reasons but comes around quickly…she is doing SO great considering everything she has been through. Older, respectable children would be ok. Her foster mom says she is a total Love Bug…she definitely hasn’t forgotten how to snuggle. Due to her being on the run for so long, Sophia MUST HAVE A FENCED IN YARD. She is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped..
There is one very lucky family out there who will be blessed with such a great girl. I can’t wait to watch her blossom!
