Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hey there! I'm Madison. If you are looking for a snuggly dog who likes giving kisses, I'm your girl! So let's get the important stuff out of the way first. I am a fully vetted and heartworm negative Miniature Pinscher and Chihuahua mix. Some people say my fluffy tail makes me look like a bunny, but I'm pretty sure those critters are not in my lineage. In fact, I think they are fun to chase. The vet says she thinks that due to how my body looks, I may be 8 years old. However, since I have no gray fur, lovely teeth, and am a spunky dog, the human fostering me thinks I'm closer to 6. I'm looking for a home with adults only or with children over the age of 10. Dogs are okay too. I walk well on a leash so do not require a fenced yard. I am crate and house trained. I stay in my crate when I am left alone, and when I need to go outside, I will stand at the door if no one has asked me if I need to go. I do know what 'outside' means and will respond to it as well because sunbathing is fun.
I love toys of all kinds. Rubber, stuffed, not stuffed. Doesn't matter! I also love chews of the real and nylon variety. Benebones are my favorites, especially the bacon ones. Usually I play by myself, but sometimes I play tug with another dog. When I'm not playing, I'll be your shadow and best friend. More than toys though, I love, love, love food! I go crazy for treats, my meals, and even cheese that the human thinks she's hiding my medication in. I know it's there, but I like cheese too much to refuse the pills. Speaking of medication, I tend to bark when I am left alone which means apartments and condos are not ideal. The foster lady says I have something called separation anxiety. It is more controlled now that I am on medication. I take one daily, and I take another kind when I am left alone. She has been able to leave me for six hours whereas before starting the medicine, I did not even want her to be in another room without me. Oh yeah. She said to let you know it is inexpensive at around $25 for a three-month supply.
