Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sweet Marilyn is a border collie/aussie/cattle dog mix - at least that is our best guess. She is our favorite type of dog - rescue! Tyson's Place Animal Rescue's mission is to assist terminally ill people with finding homes for their pets. She, along with her brother Bradley (also up for adoption), came to us after both their owners died within two weeks of each other. Marilyn is 10 years old and a bit overweight. She still has a fair amount of energy so she could use a home that wants to give her walks and play time. Don't let her senior age scare you away - she has been examined by our vet and is in good health. The herding breeds of dogs can live a long time with proper exercise and vet care.
She is housebroken and crate trained. She is not destructive in the home when left alone, so crating her when you are gone is an option. She is good with other dogs and currently resides in a foster home with a small dog. She has just been introduced to cats, and typical to her breed, she chases them so caution with cats and observing her interactions with them is a must in a household with cats. She should be fine with kids, though she hasn't had a lot of exposure to them. She enjoys cuddling on the couch with you and likes to give kisses and lick you in the face.
Though she doesn't have to be adopted with her brother Bradley, she has spent her entire life with him and acts like a protective mother of him, so adopting them together is an option. More information about him can be found here: http://www.adoptapet.com/pet/17486736-jamestown-michigan-border-collie-mix
