My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bradley is a gentle old man looking for a place to call him for the last years of his life. Tyson's Place Animal Rescue's mission is to assist terminally ill people with finding homes for their pets. Bradley and his sister Marilyn (also available for adoption) came to us after both their owners died within two weeks of each other. Bradley is around 60 pounds and is 12 years old. He does have arthritis in his back end which, prior to arriving at the rescue, had not been treated. We have put Bradley on a joint supplement and daily pain medication at a low dose. These are typical senior dog maintenance steps and shouldn't alarm you about his overall health. Our hopes are that once he gets moving a bit more, he will feel better. He can handle a few stairs, such as going up or down a porch or deck into a yard, but an entire flight of stairs wouldn't be an option for him.

He is housebroken, crate trained, and walks well on a leash. He isn't destructive in the home when left alone so he wouldn't have to be crated when you left. He just loves finding a comfortable place to rest and take a nap. He also loves people - he will reach out a paw and gentle nudge your arm if he wants you to pet him and is known to make the rounds in a room of people - stopping at each person for some pets. He is also good with other dogs of all sizes and currently lives with a small dog in his foster home. He would be ok around kids who understand that he is an older boy that has a painful back end and can't do any kind of rough petting or rough housing. He has been around an 8 year old child and a 12 year old child with no problems.
