My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

The only thing more beautiful than Calliope's big blue eyes is her sweet and lovingly loyal personality. Despite all she has been through she takes giant leaps each day in trusting new people and making friends wherever she goes. Once you quickly earn her trust she will be your "bestest best friend in the whole wide world" (her words). She has quickly become accustomed to the good life, and is not looking back. This includes always having the best spot on the couch (regardless of who was already comfortably sitting there) and of course getting her fair 3/4 share of the human bed. Once Callie adopts you, you'll never have to worry about pesky things like privacy in the bathroom because her one request is that you not leave her sight. She still gets a little anxious about abandonment, and will circle back to the screen door 3 or 4 times when she goes out to pee just to make sure you are still standing there to let her back in. Being crated or corralled by a baby gate is the only time she throws a real puppy tantrum and digs her heels in. Luckily, she's a perfect houseguest and is 110% potty trained and gets along great with her much smaller Frenchie roomies.
Once Callie joins your crew you can also check: hire personal body guard, off your list. She takes her job as chief security officer just as serious whether she's alerting you to a neighbor pulling in the driveway or a single acorn falling from a tree (sorry neighbors!). In that respect, she will need someone willing to put in the training time to work on her barking, especially if she goes to a home with neighbors close-by. She is getting much better at greeting passersby and other dogs while out on walks though, and has even joined her foster mom at work a few times. A Halti lead has helped a lot with this, as she is an extremely strong puller (slide you across the floor in your socks Risky Business style strong). What Callie really needs is someone who won't let her good looks and goofy grin distract them from being consistent with her. She's still very much a puppy and loves to invent all sorts of new ways to entertain herself and try to get your attention. She is such an attention hog in fact, she would probably do just as well as an "only child" as she does having co-conspirators egging on her antics. Callie is currently resting up in her foster home from a happy tail injury, but rest assured her adorable pink nose totally makes up for the tip of tail she's missing!
Calliope came to MAGDRL in December. (5)
