Hello world, my name is Star! My mom was a barn cat and sadly, she died when I was very young. Thankfully, my siblings and I were rescued! My foster mom describes me as an easy to please, happy and content kitty! I have a neurological condition called rear leg ataxia. Ataxia means impaired balance or coordination. I saw the neurologist at the U of MN and here's what he said: "They were energetic and neurologically appropriate, but seemed to have some weakness [in their rear legs]..." In the end, he couldn't give us a definitive diagnosis and thus far my condition has stayed the same. And while it's true that sometimes I have less strength in my back legs for climbing and jumping, and yes sometimes I lose my balance, I play hard like all other kittens. I can run, climb, and chase my sister Indy! She has rear leg ataxia like me and we're planning on getting adopted together. Besides my sister Indy, I live with two cats and a little dog. The cats that I live with don't want to play with me and even though I really want to play, I'm good at leaving them alone when they want me to. Me and the dog - we're great pals! We don't play (she's kinda boring) but sometimes we take naps together. I do really good with my nail trims and travel pretty well in my carrier. Basically, I'm a super sweet girl - my foster mama always tells me "you just melt my heart, Star". My sister is just as awesome as me, which is good since we're a package deal.
