Here's what the humans have to say about me:
WE ARE SORRY BUT WE ONLY ADOPT WITHIN THE STATE OF FLORIDA
Max’s original owner, for reasons on which we can only speculate, became unable to care for him any longer and gave him to a family member. Unfortunately this family member did not wish to keep him nor would he provide Max the care that he needed and deserves; so he turned Max over to a shelter from which we retrieved him. It appears that Max may have been abused in some way as he is startled by quick movements or loud voices.
Max is very laid back and easy going. He does not mind the company of other dogs but prefers to be with people. He is currently in a foster home with both male and female Huskies and getting along with everyone.
He is quite the talker with a lot on his mind or stories to tell. Max enjoys having his back rubbed and scratched. When there is nothing going on he is quite content curling up on a comfy dog bed. He travels well in the car where he will just lay down with the occasional sitting up to look out the window.
Max, like most Huskies, is fine when left home unattended and does not require a crate, much preferring to hang out and sleep near his humans. His foster Mom reports that he is a jumper. She has a gate at the front door and when she ran back inside to grab something off the counter, not closing the front door, thinking it was ok because her current dogs would not jump it, came back to find that Max had jumped the gate and took off on an adventure. He's got quite a bit of spunk for being an older Husky... it took her 20 min to catch him.
Max is healthy, Heartworm negative, neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, and microchippped. He’s a healthy older Husky who still has much love to give and really deserves more than he has gotten so far in his life. He will make some family very happy.
