Here's what the humans have to say about me:
(photo coming soon)
Say hello to a tall, dark gold, and handsome young pup! Luke is about 10 to 12 months old, weighs just under 70 pounds and was found as a stray. He's happy and sweet, and he loves to snuggle. He's long-legged and lean, and loves everyone - people, dogs and cats equally. His coat is a bit less fluffy and shorter than the average Golden, so he may have a little Labrador Retriever in his heritage (we're not sure - it may just be from poor nutrition), but his heart is all Golden.
Luke loves activity and is always willing to play tug-of-war or chase or anything else, but is actually pretty calm for a puppy and will rest quietly when no playmate is available. He could use a little training, as could any young dog, but he is very attentive and learned to sit on his first day in his foster home. He will stay nicely in a crate if needed, but is social and prefers to be out where he can be close to his people or his dog friends in case a chance to play comes up!
Luke is heartworm negative, current on his vaccinations and neutered. He is ready to meet his forever family!
Foster Update 9/25/08:
Luke had the last of his sutures out today and is doing very well. The staff at the clinic couldn't help but laugh at him. He's such a goofy boy! He kept circling around trying to see what they were doing, so it took a little while to get the last of the sutures out, but all is well. He actually turns in circles VERY WELL. He chases his tail sometimes, and when he catches it in his mouth he just keeps circling. I think the only reason he stops is because he gets dizzy after a while! If my video camera worked better, I would try to record it.
He was a little anxious after he came back yesterday and was a bit more wound up than usual, and then today he had to go to work with me for the suture removal, so he's had a rough week. Tonight he is finally settling down again and getting some rest. He's just like a little kid - he looks like an angel when he is asleep.
