Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Brandy is a 7+ year old medium sized mix. Her big, soulful brown Brandy eyes tell you how much she wants love. Brandy is a snuggly couch potato. Her favorite thing in the world is to cuddle up with one of her human housemates on a soft sofa or chair. She can be a little timid at first with new people but quickly learns to ask them for attention when she realizes they are safe.
Brandy isn’t interested in playing with other dogs, but if another dog is getting attention from her human companions she will interrupt to get her fair share - or more! She will share a sofa with other dogs but doesn’t want them jumping near her and doesn’t like a lot of commotion. She will seek out bones to gnaw on and likes soft dog beds in corners if the sofa is occupied. Brandy likes to go for walks, but when it comes to hanging out in the yard...well, let’s just say she’s the first one at the door howling to come in. She has a beautiful hound howl, which she shares whenever the other dogs bark and will sing with her people with very little encouragement. There were times in her past when she didn’t always have ample food, so dinner time is her favorite time of day. She is housetrained and behaves well indoors.
Brandy was relinquished into rescue with Ella but may be able to be adopted to a home without Ella if her adopters are willing to be patient with her as she transitions to only dog status. She will do best in a low-key, quiet home or would be perfect for a retiree looking for a canine companion.
Ella and Brandy came to us as a pair but after careful observation, it's possible that with the right home, they can be placed separately. If other dogs are in the home they would need to be respectful of their low-key play preferences. If you're interested in adopting Ella or Brandy please visit our website to fill out an application. We provide adoption services to families living within a 100 mile radius of the Philadelphia, PA region.
