Every now and then a special needs dog comes in and touches your heart like no other. Wanda is that dog for us. She has endured 8 yrs. of neglect, abuse and almost total abandonment. But...her spirit has never broken. She wants attention, she craves love and when you see her tail wag and the glee in her eye when you approach it almost breaks your heart to know she wants these things but is scared to receive them. She will come around with time and patience and love. She is an incredibly gentle Retriever mix and we know as soon as you get to know her you will feel the same way we do. This is the dog you've been wanting to rescue your whole life and this is the dog who has been waiting for you. Come and meet Wanda and bring lots of love.

Our dogs and horses are NOT at the HSFC shelter at 4057 Chain Bridge Road, Fairfax, VA--only our cats, birds, rabbits, and small mammals can be visited there. Come by and see us!
