Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This is Ruby, she's an owner surrender due to the family moving to a home without a yard. Ruby would love a yard to run and play in and a couch to relax on with her family. When Ruby isn't exploring the yard she's usually laying her head in someone's lap. Ruby enjoys doting on children and actually seems to prefer them to adults! Ruby had never been on leash prior to her arrival here and she doesn’t really walk well on leash yet. We’re working on it but for now she drops to the ground and refuses to move. Ruby will need time to adjust to anything new as she never experienced anything other than her former yard. No vet visits, no grooming, no walk, no car rides. She truly doesn’t know how to be a border collie, but we’re working with her. Her former owners couldn’t give me her exact age but rather an estimate based on how old their child was when she had her first litter, their best guess was between 6-8 years old.
Additional notes addressing questions I continue to receive-
- Ruby is fine with the cats here.
- Yes, Ruby is crate trained.
- She gets horribly car sick, even short trips.
- Ruby is NOT a fan of baths, avoids the pool/ pond but attacks sprinklers with zest.
- Yes, she digs.
We’re seeking a family WITH children as Ruby bonds well with children and room to run and play. While Ruby doesn't quite understand fetch she does play tag. If you’d like an application to adopt please let me know and I’ll send one your way.
**Pets will not be shipped nor transported to adopter. Applications are accepted and reviewed on a first come first serve basis, serious inquires only. Meet and Greets are scheduled when an application has been approved. If the meet and greet is successful then the required adoption fee is paid , $150, in full, cash only, and the adoption contract is signed.
