Here's what the humans have to say about me:
It would be so easy to rescue the cute. To rescue the "easy" one's.
But that's not what rescue is about.
Rescue is about giving a second chance to an animal desperately needs one. It's about helping an animal who cannot help themselves.. no matter what they look like, what it costs and what the issues may be.
Enter Joey.
Oh he's cute alright! He's got that down solid! <3 But he definitely isn't the easiest rescue. At only 6 months old, he's spent over 6 weeks of that, over 1/6 of his life - homeless, alone and under the weather. There's no way to tell where the other portions of his life were spent, but we can tell you the REST OF HIS LIFE, is going to be great. Perhaps you are the family to make his dreams a reality, finally.
Joey came into the city shelter as a stray. He had a horrible abscess on his neck from where he was attacked on the street. He also had a nasty kitty cat cold. Joey was seen by a vet. Then back to the shelter he went. Then days later, back to the vet. Then back to this shelter. This happened 5 times. Obviously the rescue God's were trying to get our attention.
Joey has been at Tender Hearts Veterinary Center. for over 2 weeks now. He is doing amazing and has really blossomed into a very handsome, quirky, spunky boy! He can't stay at the vet much longer, which Christmas coming and a busy clinic - he really needs to find his forever home.
ABOUT JOEY:
Joey is a 6 month old, domestic medium hair, Tuxedo. He is:
✔Neutered
✔Current on all vaccines
✔Has been fully dewormed
✔Is on flea/tick/heartworm prevention
✔Is FIV/FeLV negative
✔Is micro chipped.
He is litter trained and he does just fine with kids, cats and dogs.Since he's spent a significant part of his life kind of all over the place, he does need a home that will be patient with him while he adjusts to the life of being an indoor family cat. What I mean by that is he may take a little time to adjust to pets in the home, and to things in the home like vacuums or TV's. He is a social boy and he is a BRAVE boy. He needs an active home that will have the time to play with him. He likes to chase toys on a string and he's very smart so your interactive kitty cat toys are a must! He's really an easy going, all around great cat. He should fit well into just about any home.
Joey does have one little tiny special need. Since he was sick with that kitty cat cold for so long, it really just became a chronic sneezy, sniffly condition. In order to help him fight that and keep it at bay - he needs to be on an easy peasy medication that you can put right onto his food. He likes it so much that he eats that, before he eats the food! We have two bottle to send with, so you will be set for a bit. It's about $10 and that should last you a month or two. This medication will help him continue to get what he needs to keep warding off that chronic yuckiness he got stuck with.
That's Joey in a nut shell. He's cute. He's friendly. And he's looking for Santa Paws to bring him a family this Christmas. Let's help him find it!
HOW TO ADOPT JOEY:
Joey is available through Fur the Love of PAWS Rescue.
🔼His adoption donation is $50.
🔼In order to find the purrfect home for Joey, we do ask for a completed adoption application, please message the page here: (http://m.me/FurtheLoveofPAWSRescue [http://m.me/furtheloveofpawsrescue_green]
) for that.
🔼We have a No Declaw Policy, so please keep that in mind.
🔼Adoption Agreement signed after two week trial.
Rescue is hard enough, trying to keep up with all that need us. We are only interested in finding Joey a forever home, so if allergies, moving, divorce/marriage or any other reason is an acceptable excuse for you to give up a pet, please do not apply. Joey has a long, happy life ahead of him and he needs one family, for all of it.
If you can't adopt, please share! Thank you!
