Mommy was young and pregnant when she was driven out to the country, in the middle of one of the most sever winters on record, and kicked out of the car. Fortunately, the doorstep she went to for help took her in and raised the puppies until they were old enough to move on. There were 7 babies - one was stillborn, onw was adopted by their rescuer, and we have mommy and the other 5 pups. Mommy looks like a Westie/Schnauzer mix. Her tail is bobbed, her body is shaped like a Schnauzer, but her hair and her face are very Westie. The babies may not all have the same daddy. This little brindle looks like a Cairn/Schnauzer mix. The rest of the litter look like Westie/Labrador mix. 3 of the black ones are girls. One black one and the brindle one are boys. Best guess, they were born 1st half of Feb, which makes them about 4 mo old. I think they will end up with short hair, and about the size of a small Lab
They are awesome! Playful, fun, gentle and mild mannered, but lots of energy. Very affectionate. Great great great kids dogs. Good with other dogs. Not good for someone who is low energy, and not good for apartment living. Need active young family with fenced yard, and preferably another dog to play with.
We do not charge an adoption fee, but do ask a donation to reimburse for our medical and transport expenses. That is usually $450 for an adult dog, $650 for puppy under 1 year, and reduced amounts for senior and special needs dogs. Now that we are officially a 501c3 charity, all donations are tax deductible
Each dog will be spayed/neutered, heartworm tested (negative, unless stated otherwise), treated for parasites, and up to date on shots. While we are vigilant to get everyone as healthy as possible before we send them off to start their new lives, it is to be expected that, after the stress of traveling across the country from Kansas, (where our dogs are rehabilitated), and going to a new home, they will probably need to be retreated for parasites. We want to stress that your new friend needs to be seen by your veterinarian within the first week of arrival.
We absolutely guarantee a happy adoption, or you MUST return the dog and we will undo the contract. If you are not happy, the dog is not happy, and we are not happy. We are in this to make the dogs happy.
