Rocky and Jake both were bought at auction to keep them from being bought by another breeder and staying in a puppy mill. Both boys were being kenneled with a female in heat, and were totally focused on breeding. As part of their ritual, the girls have pulled out a lot of the males hair. They all look like they have been attacked by moths. Very strange flirting if you ask me. Rocky is 3 yrs old Both boys are shy and still run when I want to pick them up. Once they are in my arms, they settle down and accept the contact. Unfortunately, both have yeast infection in their ears, so most of the time I am catching them to clean and medicate their ears. They get along with other dogs, both male and female, and have taken very well to living in a house instead of a cage. I have a doggie door, and they have both learned to come in and out, and love running free out in the yard. Once they get socialized and have been to obedience school, I think they would do really well at dog park. The potential is in there for both of them to blossom into great companions, I have seen the signs of it. Once they are in a home of their own and can get more individual attention, I would bet that by the end of summer they will be totally different dogs, and you won't be able to tell they have ever been in a puppy mill. They could use a good haircut, but I am trying to minimize unpleasant contacts, since I am treating their ears every day, and they are not thrilled about that
