Here's Your Flora Dora Girl!
Sweet little Flora arrived at SCMR after 14 years of loyal devotion to her owner who is now too elderly to care for her, and you can see from one of her photos how neglected she was. She was underweight when she first arrived but now weighs about 7 pounds.
Flora had a terrible flea infestation which irritated her skin badly and caused hair loss, but her skin is clearing up, and we expect her coat to fill out. She is a Maltese mix...most likely Maltese/Yorkie. She has little foxy ears like a Yorkie and a longer snout. Flora has cataracts but still sees pretty well...has no trouble getting around. She has a lot of personality and doesn't hesitate to ask for attention.
At 14, she likes to spend a lot of time snoozing. But she is also the perfect lap warmer! Place her in your lap and she's content for as long as you want her there! She gets along with other dogs...don't know about cats, but she's so easy going that I expect she would like most any cat. She has a strong constitution.
When she arrived, she had a tapeworm and kennel cough, but she took her medicine like a good girl, and the tapeworm is gone and so is the kennel cough! She does well on a leash and is house trained, so if you have room in your heart and home for a little old gal who still has some 'Oomph,', this sweetheart is for you! She still has lots of love to give!
Flora is kicking up her heels in Largo, FL.
