My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lilly is a sweet and happy brittany who has a lot of energy! She came in to rescue from her previous owners who got her through the Humane Society. She had been returned to the Humane Society twice before, and the owner thought rescue might be the better option for Lilly. She was right. She hated to give her up, but Lilly is a barker and it got her and her owner into trouble with her neighbors. Previously, she had gotten into trouble by being left out by herself while her owners were away, and she ruined some things. Not surprising for a young dog, however. She simply needed to be crated when her owners are gone (which she seems to love!) and plently of stimulation to keep her from getting bored.

After Lilly had spent just a few days with us and our 3 year old male brittany, we couldn't believe that anyone had ever taken this dog back to any organization. She is so easy to get along with and loves to please. She is very smart , knew several commands and was housebroken when we got her. Her long tail wags as long as you are looking at her, and really goes when you talk to her. She loves to cuddle on the couch or to have her face rubbed, as long as she's not playing hard with her foster brother. He has taught her to play keep-away, tug-of-war with a doggie blanket and a good old fashion game of chase around the backyard. She sleeps in her crate all night without a peep and has even put herself to bed a few times, if we stay up too late for her. Lilly came to us looking a bit like a barrel, but she lost just a few pounds with the right diet and perhaps more activity than she was getting before. She is only about 25 pounds, but has a much improved figure.

Lilly would fit in very well in a home with another dog to play with; she needs to be kept busy. She needs someone who has owned a brittany before and understands how to keep them happy, healthy and out of trouble. She is a great dog for the right family and is a great companion. If you are looking for a happy dog to fit into an active life, Lilly could be your new best friend.
