Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Opie is a smoochin machine! He loves to roll around on his back and play with toys. He's so gentle with his mouth when he plays- perfect gentleman. Everyone at the vets office fell in love with him- but I'm not surprised; he is loved by everyone who has met him! He even has a fan base in california! So many people shared his pictures and videos, and it worked! After 5 long months at a high kill shelter, hes free! He's ready to have his very own family for Christmas. Could it be you?
He is doing much better on a leash with his martingale collar. This boy is strong! He would thrive with a strong pack leader, someone who will continue teaching him tricks. He knows how to 'sit', 'stay', and 'shake' so far! He really wants to please his person, and would love someone to spoil him for the rest of his life!
. He does have a dominant personality, and is high energy with dog to dog intros. Would need a very experienced handler to have him successfully integrate into your pack of dogs..
He loves kids, but doesn't understand that they don't want to drown in slobber- we're working on it!
He is potty trained, kennel trained, and generally minds well, just needs some reminders. He does have a prey drive towards kitties, so would need to be separated from any kitties in his forever home.
Opie is 7 years old (65lbs) and has many many years, and plenty of energy left in him! He has a cleft lip that doesn't affect him, and some old, possible cigarette burns on his back. His teeth are very warn down, but he eats very well and the vet is not concerned!
Who can give this guy the life he's been waiting for for sooooooo long?
