Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Lucas's adoption fee is $350.
Hi there - my name is Lucas. I’m a male Dachshund mix, about 3 years old, and I weigh about 20 pounds. I’m neutered, up to date on vaccinations, micro chipped and I have had a dental done. I am in good health, but have a condition called ear margin dermatosis ; sometimes the small blood vessels in my ears bleed. When this happens I may need to wear a cone in order to give my ears time to heal.
I love my walks (though I pull a bit on leash – we’re working on that) and enjoy meeting people on them, but may bark when encountering other dogs. I’m friends with the other dogs in my foster home, but would also be fine as an only dog. I’m a very unique fellow – my friends at Tiny Paws say I’m special needs. I must admit to having an obsession with light and shadows – my foster mom says that I’ll jump and claw at light and shadows for hours on end, and will pretty well ignore everything else if I have them to play with.
I may bark for a short time when left at home, so would be best suited to living in a single home. I should be contained to a safe area in the home or crated when you go out, as I have been known to get into things I shouldn’t (oops!) and chew and eat them when I’m nervous or bored. I am used to having someone home with me most of the time, so I'd be best suited to a situation where I'm not left at home for a typical workday. As long as I’m let out every 4 hours or so, I’m pretty good about my house training.
If you think we’d be a good match, please get in touch with my friends at Tiny Paws – they’d be glad to send you more information about me. I’d love to find my forever home...maybe it could be with you!
