My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is CHEWY. That's short for Chewbacca for all you Star Wars fans. I'm a medium-sized Pit Bull full or mix who was born in June 2002. My owner passed away, so I came to live at the sanctuary. While I enjoy hanging out with the other dogs and the volunteers, I would be happiest in a quiet home with a kind and caring person - I do miss the indoor life.

I've heard some say that one of my best qualities is how quiet I am - I hardly ever bark. I'm one of those deep thinkers who only speaks when it's really necessary. One of my favorite activities is being brushed. I like getting baths too - anything that gets me closer to people.

I usually get along well with other dogs, and I do have a lot of dog friends. I'm not sure about cats though. I don't think I'd mind them. I want to be an inside dog because I like it better closer to my people and I have some skin problems outside in hot weather. I would definitely enjoy walks and some time outside - especially in the cooler weather. If you're looking for a more settled dog who is affectionate and who has a calm spirit, I think your search just ended!
