My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Makena is a senior shepherd girl who found herself in an NC animal shelter.  She recently joined the BD&CR family and is as sweet as can be and grateful to have a warm bed just in time for the cold weather.  Makena's teeth are worn and she takes an inexpensive medication for her thyroid, but she is a very spry 10 years and gets along with the other dogs in her foster home.  She is housebroken and can be cat tested if needed. 

If you are interested in adopting, please complete an application at blackdogsandcompanyrescue.org or email rescueblackdogs@yahoo.com. Vet references and a home visit are required. Adoption fee of $300 includes age appropriate vaccinations, deworming, spay or neuter and microchip.
