Here's what the humans have to say about me:
How does a dog, once neglected, deprived of human companionship, tied to a fence with no shelter from the elements, left vulnerable, defenseless, and ignored… how does he live life after being freed from the chain?
He eats as if there is no tomorrow; he sleeps as if he had never been able to rest before; each toy is his favorite toy; he runs and plays hard but he loves even harder; he cuddles and gives kisses with so much joy that he just can’t contain the grunts; he follows his foster parents wherever they go; his once sad eyes are now filled with love and devotion. He lives and breathes every single minute of it, awake or as sleep, he is fully aware of what is happening to him.
He didn’t understand at first and was afraid of the unknown. He didn’t know what to think of living inside a home, a gentle touch, a soft voice. He didn’t know what was expected of him, as nothing ever was expected of him before. All he ever knew was a lonely and miserable life on the chain. Yet, he has learned quickly and responded well to learning how to be an inside dog. His disbelief turned into sheer happiness and he soaks it right in the kindness, the attention, the tender loving care. He is beyond grateful, only wants to please you and be your loyal friend until the end.
Meet Chance! Chance is a 3 year old Pit Bull Terrier and weighs around 65 pounds. His foster mom describes him as a low energy kind of dog. He is very submissive with people and quite shy when meeting new ones. He lives with several other dogs in his foster home and does well with all of them. Cats however are not included in his friendship circle. He is already crate and house trained. Chance is still learning to contain his excitement when seeing his favorite humans. He is a big love bug and would do best in a home with no small children as he may accidently knock them down. Chance otherwise is quite and passive and his favorite past time is cuddling with his human. He has some catching up to do on that front.
**This dog is with Corridor Rescue in Houston, Texas but is available for transport to most major US and Canadian cities via United Airlines PetSafe for an additional $275. A customs fee may apply at Canadian airports. Ground transportation to Colorado is available for $75, and several locations in the northeastern US for $175.
We are a street dog rescue in Houston, Texas seeking to place rescued dogs in loving homes across the US and Canada. Our region has more homeless animals than homes, so we look outside of our area for adopters.
The adoption fee of $200 covers neuter, microchip and current vaccines.
