Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Fawn really meets her name - she is just a tiny little girl with huge doe eyes. She came to us after her owner passed away. She spent a week alone in the home until we were able to take her into the rescue. Tyson's Place Animal Rescue's mission is to assist terminally ill people with finding homes for their pets.
Fawn, who is 7 years old, is a chihuahua in ALL senses of the word. This breed is known for being a one-person dog, and her person was her owner. She loved him dearly and he carried her around everywhere, dressing her up in a variety of outfits. As a result of being spoiled, she kind of forgot what it is like to be a dog and wants to be picked up constantly. It would be good for her to spend some time walking on the ground and outdoors. A combination of this princess treatment and her breed led her to be super protective of her owner and she would snap at people she deemed as a threat to him. As a result, we are recommending no young kids for her. She would do best with an adult household who can work with her to remember good dog behaviors.
She is crate trained and has lived with other dogs. In her previous home, she did have some accidents in the house, but we aren't sure if this is because she wasn't getting out enough. She is eager to go outside and explore and go to the bathroom. We think with a few weeks of remedial housetraining, she should be housebroken completely again.
She is not fixed yet, so once we have her spayed, she will be ready for adoption. Her adoption fee is $175 which includes spay, vaccinations, microchip, heartworm test and prevention.
